Citect SCADA supports two different software licensing models:
A multinational bank, Nexus Financial , is adopting an AI system to detect fraud. The AI needs access to massive datasets—customer PII, transaction logs, and cross-border transfer records. The bank’s compliance officer, Maya , must ensure the AI’s data supply chain is governed: encrypted at rest, access-controlled, non-repudiable, and auditable.
1. Securing the AI Ingestion Pipeline (Data in Transit and at Rest)
Protecting data from interception or unauthorized exposure as it moves between corporate repositories and AI environments (cloud or on-premise).
While dedicated AI governance tools (such as GlobalSuite Solutions or OneTrust ) track algorithmic bias and compliance with frameworks like the EU AI Act, addresses the fundamental data security layer. Globalscape supports AI data governance by focusing on three essential pillars: A multinational bank, Nexus Financial , is adopting
The DMZ Gateway prevents data storage in the DMZ, ensuring sensitive data remains behind the internal firewall. Combined with FIPS 140-2 compliance and support for FISMA and FedRAMP, this aligns with zero-trust principles and government-grade security expectations for AI workloads.
GlobalSCAPE has recognized the importance of AI data governance and has taken a proactive approach to evaluate its security software on AI data governance. The company's approach involves:
Eleanor’s team ran a bake-off. They expected to reject Globalscape—after all, the company was known for file transfer , not AI governance . But their new module and Data Governance policy engine told a different story. Globalscape supports AI data governance by focusing on
Uses ICAP protocol to integrate with Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools from providers like McAfee and RSA , sanitizing content before it is stored or processed. Globalscape 2. AI Data Governance Capabilities (2026 Context)
If you are already using Globalscape and want to extend it for AI data governance, you must adopt a layered approach . Continue using Globalscape for secure data transport but integrate it with specialized AI governance tools for monitoring, auditing, and managing AI-specific risks.
A higher level of encryption and access control. Their flagship product
: Its Enhanced File Transfer (EFT) platform uses military-grade encryption (FIPS 140-2) and secure protocols like SFTP and HTTPS to move training datasets from disparate sources into centralized AI repositories.
With unstructured data comprising nearly 90% of enterprise information, managing the file pipelines that supply AI engines is paramount. Globalscape ’s flagship solution, , functions as a secure data pipeline. It ensures that the operational training datasets and agentic AI outputs remain compliant, auditable, and isolated from security threats.
AI models are only as safe as the data used to train and prompt them. Poorly governed data pipelines lead to critical AI liabilities, including the accidental ingestion of Protected Health Information (PHI), intellectual property leaks, and violation of cross-border data residency laws.
In the context of AI, GlobalSCAPE (now part of HelpSystems, rebranded as ) provides the secure pipes, access controls, and audit trails necessary for AI Data Governance . Their flagship product, Enhanced File Transfer (EFT), acts as the gatekeeper that ensures data entering AI models is secure, compliant, and auditable.
A core tenet of AI governance is ensuring that Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is not exposed to unauthorized users or general-purpose AI models.
The FLEXERA softkey solution stores license information on a FlexNet Enterprise License Server. The Citect SCADA client process will retrieve licenses from this server as required by the Citect SCADA system. To activate and administer licenses, you use the Floating License Manager (see Activate Licenses Using the Floating License Manager).
In both cases, Citect SCADA uses a Dynamic Point Count to determine if your system is operating within the limitations of your license agreement. This process tallies the number of I/O device addresses being used by the runtime system.
A point limit is allocated to each type of license included in your license agreement. These license types include:
A special OPC Server License is also available if you want to run a computer as a dedicated OPC server. For more information, contact Technical Support.
If required, you can specify how many points will be required by a particular computer (see Specify the Required Point Count for a Computer).
Note:
• There is no distinction between a Control Client and an Internet Control Client.
• There is no distinction between a View-Only Client and an Internet View-Only Client.
