Manual Of Rf Techniques By Dr. Charles A. Gauci Md

Do not expect glossy, coffee-table style photos. This is a working manual. The illustrations are anatomical line drawings that highlight exactly what you need to see: the relationship of the electrode tip to the neural foramen.

In 1979, Dr. Gauci began his deep involvement in chronic pain management. After resigning his commission, he became the Lead Consultant in pain management at Whipps Cross University Hospital in London, and later held honorary positions at Guy's & St. Thomas' Hospital. His expertise quickly earned him a global reputation as a master teacher of interventional techniques. His peers elected him a Foundation Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists of England, and he remains actively involved with the World Institute of Pain (WIP) as its Honorary Secretary, a Trustee of its Foundation, and an examiner for the prestigious FIPP (Fellowship in Interventional Pain Practice) Diploma.

There is an old adage in medicine: “Watch one, do one, teach one.” But when it comes to Radiofrequency (RF) ablation and neuromodulation, that adage can be dangerous. The difference between a perfect lesion and a catastrophic complication is often measured in millimeters and impedance shifts.

The genesis of the Manual of RF Techniques lies in Dr. Gauci's observations as a teacher. He noticed a distinct void: a demand for a "simple and straightforward" guide focused strictly on the essentials of radiofrequency (RF) methods—a guide that could be handled by operating physicians while carrying out procedures. This demand led to the publication of the first edition in 2004, an instant international success that sold out rapidly. It was followed by an updated second edition in 2005, which also sold out, creating the demand for the third, further updated edition. MANUAL OF RF TECHNIQUES By Dr. Charles A. Gauci MD
